Frequently asked questions
Everything walkers usually ask us before booking their first adventure.
- How fit do I need to be?
- Each adventure lists distance, ascent and duration. If you can walk comfortably for a few hours on undulating ground, our day hikes will suit you. Multi-day European trips ask for a little more regular walking beforehand.
- How big are the groups?
- Group sizes vary by event. Please check the individual event page for the current capacity and availability.
- What is included in the price?
- Your qualified guide, route planning and safety cover are always included. Trip pages list anything else — such as accommodation, transfers or baggage transport on self-guided routes.
- What kit should I bring?
- Broken-in boots, layers including a waterproof shell, at least two litres of water, snacks and lunch.
- What happens if the weather turns?
- Our guides check the forecast the night before and on the morning. Routes may be adjusted for safety; if a day cannot run at all we will contact you about rescheduling.
- Can I book for someone else, or as a group?
- Yes. Add the number of places you need at checkout, and get in touch if you would like a private or bespoke departure for your group.
- How do cancellations and refunds work?
- Day hikes are non-refundable and non-transferable. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions — feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
- Can I come my own?
- Absolutely! Many of our attendees join solo. Our events are designed to be friendly and welcoming, making it easy to meet like-minded people who enjoy the outdoors.
- I am new to hiking, can I join?
- Yes! Most of our hikes are beginner-friendly and welcoming to those who are new to hiking. Please read the event description carefully and choose a hike that matches your fitness level and experience.
